Summer is all about coming together with family and friends to share and enjoy good food, drinks and live music. Concept hotel Boogie Woogie Beach House and restaurant Flow Bar is the place to do it.

Head Chef Dave Clifton is set to launch his summer menu this Friday 3 November. Clifton has done time at Hugo’s Bondi, The Bondi Trattoria and Deviate Restaurant. The menu is delicious and exciting, inspired by the seasons, using fresh and local produce, it features share plates organized by “small and main dishes to share”, modern Australian cuisine with a tantalising trinity of Mediterranean, Americana and Asian influences.

Perhaps a questionable combination. But it works.

Clifton wields a confident hand with the pickled wild mushroom conserve and onion puree on the 500 gram grassland rib eye steak. The grilled pork belly butter leaf lettuce wrap, reminiscent of Korean ssam, angel hair pasta with fresh tuna and local fragrant herbs and the 350 gram grass-fed lamb rump, sliced to share and served with a textural sensation of peppers, fresh pomegranate, chickpea and pickled cauliflower are his top picks.

“The menu is best when shared, it’s fun, you get to sample more than one dish and talk about the flavours with your friends, it really adds to the whole experience”, says Clifton.

Brilliant for those who suffer from food envy. Party planners and large groups will relish the “Chef’s Selection Banquet” where you let the expert feed you, Clifton will serve up eight delectable dishes for the group to share for $49 per person. The menu caters for dietary requirements and gluten free folk.

Fans of crab can get their kicks from the new crab and leek fritters dressed with a palette pleasing green goddess sauce.

Regulars will be delighted with the new arrivals and relieved to see some of the house favourites staying.

The beef ribs are staying on the menu, soft centered and finished to a deep char, enhanced with a rich sticky BBQ sauce, on a bed of wild rice, fennel and fragrant herbs. So too, the chicken wingettes and the undeniably best ever three cheese Mac ‘n Cheese.

Flow Bar is a place that combines food and destination; just 100m from Old Bar beach, a fully licensed bar and free live music for dining patrons on Friday nights and Sunday lunch by local and touring musicians and bands.

Special priced events such as Tim Rogers 26 November 2017, Kim Churchill 13 January 2018 and the New Year’s Eve Hawaiian Luau Party, fans can catch the show, stay up late, book a room upstairs and in the morning take a dip in the ocean and come back for a slap-up big breakfast.
