After his historic January 2023 Memphis International Blues Challenge win, and with his star continuing to rise, Frank Sultana, the globetrotting Australian bluesman returns home from the USA for the fourth time in two years, as he embarks on his most ambitious run of NSW shows since the world started noticing what we here have known for years. The 'Down Home' Tour will take in over 30 dates between March and July 2025, as Frank performs solo, intimate, hand picked venues across his home state. He will bring the visceral soul singing and raw authenticity that won him first place against over 150 artists in the most prestigious blues competition in the world.
Joining Frank for this leg of the tour is Canadian blues roots artist Jon Hines. Frank and Jon met in Memphis in 2023 as they competed in the Blues challenge and have since become good friends. This is Jons first Australian tour, and will see him playing in the NT as well as NSW.
The Flow Bar has been hosting Frank for over 10 years so locals are well familiar with his talent and raw energy. In the last 2 years he has cemented his place in the Australian blues scene, as well as making a significant impact in the US blues scene.
He has won 5 Sydney Blues Society Blues Awards including Artist of the Year and Best Traditional Blues (2023) and Best Songwriter (2023/2024) as well being nominated for an APRA award for best blues roots song in 2024. His last 2 albums have charted in the Australian Blues Roots Airplay Charts, with his current release still in the top 10.
