Hannah Harlen is a singer/songwriter, guitar player and loop artist from Bellingen NSW, Hannah’s music draws inspiration from her relationship with nature, vital momentum, oneness, love and community. Hannah weaves through her song’s stories of her own personal experiences and enchants listeners wherever she plays. Hannah places emphasis on healing and connection to nature in her songwriting.
Hannah incorporates percussive playing and open tunings on her acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica and bass to her concoction of songs and stories, looping bass lines and vocal harmonies, with velvety warm smooth soulful tones that make people pay attention.
Hannah started off as a busker in Bellingen and can be seen regularly performing across the North Coast. She has played at Urunga Originals, No.5, Archive, Element Bar Cognitive Roots, Coffs Coast Food and Wine Festival, The Presynct Nambour, All One Under the Sun Festival and Bowraville Theatre amongst many others. She has gone onto being chosen as a support act for touring artists visiting the Mid North Coast including; James Bennett, Caravana Sun, Tom West, Merri-May Gill and Tullara. Hannah is also lead guitarist and sometimes bass player for Bellingen Funk band Funkatu. Hannah is a collaborative artist and has performed with Kauri, Laura Targett, Bahi, Stav.and Greg Sheehan to name a few.
Artistic influences and inspiration that can be heard in Hannah’s music include: Tracy Chapman, Ben Howard, Xavier Rudd and Ben Harper.
Hannah can be booked as a solo performer or as a trio. Hannah sings mostly originals but has a comprehensive list of covers she enjoys performing.
