David Garnham & the Reasons to Live craft country tinged ballads about booze and women, fueled by isolation and self-loathing.

Twisted love, the human condition and gin feature prominently in songs laden with candour and heartbreak.

DG&TRTL debut album ‘Love inside a jar’, produced by Charles Jenkins and Justin Rudge, has been described as “the start of a substantial career” by the Courier Mail, and pulled in the accolades of multiple NT song of the year awards (including the overall prize), as well as winning the Americana category in the International Songwriting Competition.

Dave was lucky enough the go through the Telstra Road to Discovery development program in 2011 (songwriter category), and the band have had the privilege of supporting such acts as You Am I, Jeff Lang, Liz Stringer, Mama Kin, Wagons and Gomez.

Some of them live in Darwin, some in Alice, but all in squalor.
